Nikon SeeCoat lense Coating:
In addition to the state-of-the-art lenses, Nikon has a coating called the Nikon SeeCoat which is the ultimate in lens protection by allowing:
Optimized Transparency: Light coming from all angles is highly controlled (99% light transmission), minimizing unwanted glare and significantly enhancing lens performance.
Easier to Clean: Nikon R&D has refined the oleophobic properties by increasing the concentration of fluorine molecules, resulting in a higher-density top coat for a smoother lens surface.
Longer Lasting: This higher density allows SeeCoat's properties to last two times longer compared to conventional coatings.
Increased Scratch Resistance: Nikon uses the latest nano-technologies to produce a new reinforced Hard Coat to make it more durable and scratch resistant. Nikon SeeCoat has proven to be at least 2 times more resistant to scratches than conventionally-coated lenses.
Longer Lens Durability: Nikon R&D has enhanced the molecular bonding process to provide an even greater adhesion to the lens. This reinforces the durability of the scratch coating, prolonging the life of the lens.
